No trip to the library included. The selection is not huge right now (especially for audios) but it is extremely current things and several good YA titles that I have been waiting to read. It's Monday- What Up with Your Reading???

Ok this is actually two weeks worth as I missed last week. So it seems a little top heavy on the "finished" part!  And today is actually Tuesday, not Monday cuz Monday was a holiday (President's Day). Yeah I took the day off. As is evidenced by the lack of reviews for said "finished" books, and the "vacation days" I am not SUPERWOMAN. Blogging takes serious time! I just started rehersals for a musical 6 nights a week and I am having a hard enough time getting dinner on the table and the dishes done each day let alone any blogging. Don't give up on me though. Reviews will be coming as I have alot to say about so many of these books . Patience grasshopper!

Book Review

Shadowspell

by Jenna Black
Released January 4th 2011
295 pages
Book #2 in the Faeriewalker Series
Checked out from the Kuna Public Library

Summary
On top of spending most of her time in a bunkerlike safe house and having her dates hijacked by a formidable Fae bodyguard, Faeriewalker Dana Hathaway is in for some more bad news: the Erlking and his pack of murderous minions known as the Wild Hunt have descended upon Avalon. With his homicidal appetite and immortal powers, the Erlking has long been the nightmare of the Fae realm. A fragile treaty with the Faerie Queen, sealed with a mysterious spell, is the one thing that keeps him from hunting unchecked in Avalon, the only place on Earth where humans and Fae live together. Which means Dana’s in trouble, since it’s common knowledge that the Faerie Queen wants her – and her rare Faeriewalker powers – dead. The smoldering, sexy Erlking’s got his sights set on Dana, but does he only seek to kill her, or does he have something much darker in mind?

My Review

These books are such a good time. They are smart, full of romance, and full of Dana's snarky comebacks! I love Dana! Her voice is distinct and funny and direct. She is very strong but not too strong. Just right. Oh and did I say funny? She is a kick in the pants to me.

Talk about an intriuging world. I love the finding out about all the faerie nuances. The political atmosphere was on the back burner a bit for this one (that's what I loved so much about the first book) but enter the Erlking! Yowsa! I loved him! He personified all the things about faerie to me. Unable to lie yet deftly twists the truth to his advantage. You don't want to go up against him as a naive novice which, oh wait, Dana is. Yet he was kind on one hand but oh so ruthless on the other. Not to mention a hunky guy with a biker gang!

Romance. Ok, I thought Dana and Ethan's interludes were steamy in the last book. The heat turned up a notch in this one. WOOO! It wasn't offensive to me though. In fact at the beginning of the book there is a scene at the movies that may be one of my favorite "steamy" scenes of all time!

All in all I really enjoyed this book. I am so excited the next book (last book) is already out. I'm picking it up from the library tomorrow. I love to be in Dana's world for as long as I can be there.
